Business Development Manager

Full-time, hourly, non-exempt

    The AccessKC Business Development Manager will be a dynamic leader focused on driving transformative partnerships with health service providers and community organizations. This role calls for a strategic thinker who excels in business development, campaign management, and stakeholder engagement to enhance our program's reach and impact. The ideal candidate will develop innovative strategies, establish key partnerships, and utilize data-driven insights to refine our initiatives, ensuring sustainable growth and community well-being.

  • AcruxKC (www.AcruxKC.org), a 501(c)3 public charity, operates education, grantmaking, and healthcare access programs that contribute to the health and quality-of-life of individuals across the bi-state Kansas City region. AcruxKC’s flagship program, AccessKC (www.AccessKC.org), promotes health equity by eliminating barriers to basic health needs for area residents with low incomes.

    • Strategic Growth: Identify, connect, and secure new collaborations with health service providers and community organizations to enhance program offerings and outreach.

    • Operational Efficiency: Optimize internal and relationship management processes to improve program delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Enhance Engagement: Implement strategies to boost partner satisfaction, retention, and active participation in our initiatives.

    • Innovate Solutions: Develop and implement innovative approaches to improve program effectiveness and community impact.

    • Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage data insights to inform strategy, track performance, and refine approaches for greater impact.

  • As a small non-profit agency, staff may take on many tasks. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

    • Strategize for Impact: Design and implement recruitment and other strategies that align with AccessKC’s operations and long-term goals to amplify the program’s effectiveness and community engagement.

    • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze program data to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and expansion.

    • Partnership Cultivation: Develop and execute strategies for cultivating and onboarding health service providers.

    • Communication & Follow-Up: Maintain regular, proactive communication with partners to ensure high engagement levels and satisfaction.

    • Impact Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on program performance and strategic outcomes to stakeholders and funders.

    • Community Representation: Represent AccessKC to education institutions and at meetings, task forces, health fairs, and community events, promoting the program and fostering partnerships. Expand individual and organizational knowledge about AccessKC Services. Embodies AccessKC’s values and commitment to learning and evolving according to these values.

    • Education and Experience: BA/BS in business, communications, marketing, or human services (or 3-4 years in a relevant role. Experience in business development, campaigns, fundraising, and account management is preferred.

    • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with superior interpersonal skills for maintaining strong relationships and partnerships.

    • Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects and professional relationships at various stages, with experience in navigating ambiguity to set priorities and achieve objectives.

    • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Proactive mindset with the ability to balance short- and long-term goals, take initiative, and contribute to discussions on operations and strategy.

    • Learning and Adaptability: Ability to learn independently, try new approaches, and apply innovative thinking to position the organization for success.

    • This role uses standard office equipment; the position is required to talk, hear, stand, and walk, and to handle, feel and reach. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.

    • Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as occasional travel in the Kansas City region.

    • Workplace is a smoke- and drug-free environment.

    • Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; flexibility for meetings and events required

    • The salary for this position is up to $50,000; AccessKC offers a competitive benefits package


Data Analyst

Full-time, exempt

  • Supervised by: Vice President, AccessKC

    Classification: Full-time, exempt

    The AccessKC Data Analyst is the technical data expert driving initiatives through strategic data application. This role involves analyzing program datasets to generate insights and recommend data-driven strategies. We seek a candidate proficient in Power BI, with extensive experience in data cleaning, dashboard creation, reporting, and analysis. A solid understanding of Python and SQL is essential, along with a willingness to learn automated workflow systems; experience in developing these workflows is a significant advantage. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, forward-thinking, and passionate about using data to tell impactful stories and inform decision-making.

    • Generate Insights: Translate data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic planning directives, and drive innovation and growth.

    • Increase Efficiency: Optimize data processes to reduce manual work and enhance productivity.

    • Collaborate Effectively: Act as a bridge between data and stakeholders, ensuring data-driven strategies are aligned with organizational goals and highlight the impact of AccessKC.

    • Strategic Analysis: Focus on analytics needs, including the development of critical metrics and KPIs, and support program evaluation and decision-making.

    • Data-Driven Decision Making: Proactively analyze data to address key questions from stakeholders, identifying performance drivers and areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.

    • Visualization and Reporting: Develop and maintain models/assumptions and visualizations to report on results, trends, and benchmarks, including voucher redemption, service satisfaction, and other metrics.

    • Optimize Data Integration: Define and implement data acquisition and integration strategies, selecting appropriate tools and methods to ensure scalability and performance.

    • Database Management: Collect and manage data, developing procedures and quality assurance standards to ensure data integrity and enhance the scalability of data evaluation processes.

    • Champion Data Literacy: Educate staff on data best practices and the importance of data in achieving organizational goals.

    • Disseminate Data: Coordinate with management and marketing staff to prepare and disseminate clear data and analyses to support reporting, education, fund development, and promotional efforts.

    • Education and Experience: BA/BS in Business Administration, Data Analysis/Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience (2-3 years in a relevant role). Proficient in Power BI, with extensive experience in data cleaning, dashboard building, reporting, and data analysis. A solid understanding of Python and SQL. Experienced in data visualization techniques and the ability to communicate findings effectively.

    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill and convey complex data in a clear, relatable manner to diverse audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
